In June you can join her workshop either in Stockholm, Göteborg or Malmö and learn what motivates us and how we make decisions!
Susan Weinschenk held a fabulous talk at From Business to Buttons 2016. And a highly acclaimed workshop. Now she is back, and again in the good company of Guthrie Weinschenk!
Recent research in human decision-making shows surprising insights. Did you know that in order to make a decision you have to feel an emotion? Or that researchers can peer inside the brain, see when you have made a decision, and which decision you’ve made, 7-10 seconds before you are even aware you’ve made one?
In this hands-on workshop you will learn the recent research on decision-making and motivation and how to apply that to your teams, and the products and services you design and manage. The workshop is fast-based and interactive. Here are some of the things you will learn:
- Which parts of the brain are used for which kind of decisions
- The relationship between emotions and decisions
- Trust your gut or use your logic? Which method is best for what kind of decisions
- How calendars and life milestones affect decisions
- How people make decisions under stress
- What happens when people are making decisions together in a group
- How to improve decision-making
- What are cognitive biases and how they affect decision-making
- How decisions and motivation interact
- How to apply the research and information to your teams and your products
Who is the workshop for?
The Workshop is for interaction designers, UX designers, UX strategists, product owners, product managers, usability specialists -- people who design and develop interactive products and services. You already know a lot about how to create products and services that are usable and useful, and now you want to deepen your understanding of behavioral design -- why do people make certain decisions at certain times, what grabs and holds attention, and what makes people take action at a particular moment.
