Shoot a film!

Ingrid Domingues

We have found it extremely valuable to shoot very short films that explain emotions, context and facts. Here we've collected some simple tricks to make it all happen!

We at inUse meet a lot of users in our assignments. In 2017 we improved the lives of 70 million users with our design. In our mission, we understand the power that empathy has in guiding us toward the right decisions and leads to design with intent.

We have found it extremely valuable to shoot very short films that explain emotions, context and facts. A trick is to use the film as bonus material that nobody expected. We use it to summarize a test session of a new conceptual design, an innovation lab event, a workshop... Just about anything where you want to capture the moment users and managers experience your design or your work.

A film can also explain a concept, but that is a whole different story. Now we are addressing capturing insights, emotions and context in moments, just to get shared understanding. And when the film goes viral with the client, we know that we have succeeded.

We've collected some simple tricks to make it all happen, and we hope you find them helpful. Good luck!

I can personally relate to this having children growing up. When I look back on a short video of my children, the video contain so much more emotion than an image in the same setting.
